The one time famous summer spot for the lover Casanova, today provides a picture of the Mediterranean soul of Istria. This little village is the favourite destination for sculptors, who organise a summer sculpting academy every year. Carved stone sculptures are found on the square, on the beach and in the marina. Vrsar is also today’s home of the
well-known sculptor Dzamonja, whose work is exhibited in his sculpture park. Above Vrsar, you will often see parachutists who take off at the nearby airport. Every Friday in the summer, the fish festival attracts lovers of seafood, a good glass of wine and entertaining music.
