Fresh air, a great view and woods full of small waterfalls, cascades and pools decorate this town. Its distinctiveness is in its tradition of speaking a language, which is barely understandable to others. The area of Buzet is a well-known destination for admirers of the historical heritage sights of the Croatian people. A centre for the first Slavic script,over a thousand years old, into which the Frankopans’ translated documents from the Latin language, as well as stimulating the development of the local population. Even today in Roč, near Buzet, the tradition of Glagolithics lives on. Special school programs allow the youngest to become acquainted with this unique language. The alley of Glagols will take you from Roč to Hum, acknowledged as the smallest city in the world.
